Using purchase orders as a quote facility

Using purchase orders as a quote facility

If you are selling a complex product that depends on your customer’s existing situation, like car parts or electronic components for example, you may not wish to process payments straight away through your shopping cart. Instead, a purchase order/pay later facility can help you achieve the result you need.

When combined with manual or offline credit card processing, you can get customers over the line for ordering without the stress of having to know exactly what they need at purchase time or make a payment straight away.

Alternatively, if you are using a 30 day account payment system for your business then a purchase of setup can also help you gain and process more orders.

The Purchase Order facility is an offline payment method in Ozcart that you can use in this situation. Your customer adds products to the cart and goes through checkout but their credit card details are not collected or processed at purchase time. Instead they receive an order and information (that you write) about what happens next. You can write this as per your business processes. If you have 30 day accounts, you can explain this to customers, and if your customer is a corporate customer they can provide you with their company purchase order number so you can send out an invoice.
